Luke 2:8-20

We come upon these scriptures and say wow nice sign, where’s mine or excellent experience can I have one? But signs and wonders will be useless on that final day. In two ways this is a picture of God’s salvation work.

1.There is a sense in witch God’s blessing is upon the unworthy, because there are none who are acceptable before God.

2.There is another sense in witch this is not

the real blessing but just the introduction. I say so

humbly for all God does is majestic and true.

The real blessing is the Birth of a King who will shatter the darkness of a false and slavish reality that covers the world. It is He who gives the most precious gift ever given, an eternal life sealed with His Spirit.

Dear Friend

"Know you not that friendship with the world is enmity with God?"

Dear Friends, are we such heathen hearted buffoons that these words don't shatter our pride and cause our inmost being to shudder. Taking our religion for granted and walking in our secure stupor. If you are saved then the Spirit of God should shoot through you like a lightening bolt, dispelling the darkness and getting our full attention. We can not afford to be titillating our senses on the rooftop like David. The war is ragging. We are called to fight and fight we must.
I don't believe the issue at hand is kindness to the heathen. Scripture and history display this fully, but rather entering into a relationship or close association to worldly things. Christ is primary and nothing else should come close. As soldiers in the fight we must be serious, sober minded, relying heavily on the word for sure direction.
The stark warning is very fearful, its not that God has moved, but it is that you have acted the traitor. The God who called you and has given his orders -you have betrayed. He paid an awful price for you, what have you paid for him ?
The immense love of God is not a small thing, you can not afford to live as though it is. Your cheerful obedience as a soldier of Christ is the issue. How else should you walk with your God ! We are not called to a slumbering passivity, but to destroy gates and towers of the evil one. Load your mind with what is good and true. Do not shrink back, take the fight to them and never relent.
The crown rights of Christ is your banner, you can serve no other.

Have you repented of original sin?

When we reserve the right to decide what is right or wrong for ourselves or our families. We are wrong and in danger. God and God alone decides right from wrong. Where we agree with Him we are right and were we differ we are just plain wrong. After all this is the original sin. Our forbearers in the garden believed a lie and made a bad choice. We likewise have followed suit and rarely question it. If you have heard it said “ that is true for you” then you know what I mean. If we are Christians then this should be a consuming passion and if not then we have other needs. Repent of original sin, find the truth and know God. After all that’s why He went through all the trouble to give us His word. If we don’t know it then our problem is one of the heart (misplaced affections).

Deliberate Acts of Honor

Honor is a funny thing you don’t really see it around much and when you do it moves you. Everybody loves it, allot of people demand it and few people earn it. You can’t honor anyone unless you yourself are humble. Christ demands wives to honor there husbands but husbands can’t really earn it .Yet when they receive it as such it fundamentally changes them. (A process of Gods law) As children of God we are adopted as His sons, we must unleash the power of honor in our community by loving and honoring our Christian brothers as men. We will be drawn together and the whole body will be blessed. When I consider honor I am led back to the knights of old. In my minds eye I see the strong protecting the weak. Defending the fatherless and widow which is true religion. If we accept this consuming power of grace from Jesus Christ. Then we can not simply abide our time or sit back in comfort. Our duty to Christ the King is to reflect the honor of the high throne and calling of our salvation before the world here and now. Live in honor today, make it a habit and a way of life . Eat honor sleep honor dream honor and breathe honor. Honor is the product of humility, self control and spiritual maturity. Honor is the work of Christ in your heart. Men must be men and live in honor.

Will you make your life a deliberate act of honor?

Why?

If things are ok and go on as they have, people seem to live without alarm. Our eyes and hearts are dim and weary from the toil and stress of just getting by. It seems the perfect position for people to be in as this lazy stupor keeps us docile.
In this land of freedom we must be those who ask why. It is a scary proposition, questioning the statuesque of reality. Peoples realities are personal, often based on loved ones or dear friends. There is usually an emotional attachment to it. “That’s how its always been done” is common enough that all are familiar with it.
What about freedom? If we don’t understand why something is done then how can we have a compassion or commitment to it. We must ask why! Like why in a free nation where you see the statue of Liberty, Liberty bell, and Liberty hall, why is it that no one knows its meaning? Somehow in our reality we have pushed it out or forgotten it. The blur between Liberty and freedom has made them seem indistinguishable. Isn’t it ironic that a nation founded on liberty has lost it to time and ignorance? If you don’t know where your foundation is how can you stand on it. It’s no wonder you wander aimlessly while confusion and division reign.
George Washington said “Government is not reason, it is not eloquence, it is force; like fire, a troublesome servant and a fearful master. Never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action.” It is the duty of all common men to restrain it. Only a love for liberty is a just motivation for accomplishing this task.
Liberty is so grand who can fully understand the implications, you give it as an inheritance to your children. If you have it, you must thank those who gave it to you. Not just the soldier and statesmen but the pastor also. Liberty insures peace in the land . It is selfless, rejecting lust and selfishness. If neglected it withers and must be restored with tearful repentance and possibly blood. Liberty is inseparably tied to the Christian faith in that the gospel of Christ is the gospel of liberty. Christ died to set the captives free. Like Moses leaving Egypt to serve God. Living a life of liberty is serving God with all your substance, starting with your own heart. If you don’t know salvation you can never truly live a life of liberty because you are a slave to sin and not free. Liberty is the gift of God , purchased with Christ’s sacrifice. “ Where the spirit of the Lord is there is liberty”. If Christ is in you then you have it. If you have it you must share it. Spread it like sunshine in a summer day. Igniting the land with the beauty of the Lordship of Christ over all things. Your culture will reflect this battle. Liberty is the freedom to control yourself.
You were saved in order to change the world. Helping men to see who rules all things.

Love Christ

It is not enough to try and do good while avoiding evil. The

problem is that evil gratifies our flesh and its lust which can never

really be filled. Any amount of caving into those desires leads to

more and stronger ones and then to addiction. That is why there is

no hope for the lost. Being slaves to sin they are trapped by their

lust and there is no escape. Save one, salvation through repentance

in Jesus Christ. Even Christians if not mature and self controlled

will constantly struggle if they don’t flee these earthly lusts. The

real secret is to love Christ (which is a natural response to

forgiveness) and by that I mean to love truth, obedience,

submission, kindness, honor, gentleness and ect… Its only when

we really love Christ and therefore His character that we will

pursue them. When that passion flows through you as you pursue

Christ you will be filled! That old stuff will be a forgotten trash

heap.

Happiness

People walk through life without a real care, consumed with something called Happiness. It effects there mind and life distorting and confounding good thought processes. I have even heard them consumed about the Happiness of children as if it is a real goal to be focused on. The big danger of such thinking is that what is behind this P.C. jargon is a deep seeded selfishness. We should all know that selfishness leads only to the destruction of yourself while hurting others along the way. The end of selfishness is suicide, when you find yourself in a state of self pity and a loss of this false idol happiness.
In contrast doing what is righteous in spite of how we might feel is in itself a path to ours and others fulfillment. This is a hard lesson and a battle that must be fought and won early in our walk towards that goal of spiritual maturity. If we don’t get this then how can we ever receive the higher things. Our silly focus will always be on the flesh and how to please its every whim. The true battle line is between the flesh and spirit, whom will you serve? You can only choose one master. Can you divide your body? No and neither can you divide your life. If you are to serve the Prince of Peace all of you must be His.
What a patient and loving God who reveals only piece by piece to us of our imperfection so as not to kill us or destroy us. To know God is to love righteousness and cleanse our own way with heartfelt circumspection. Cleaning our own mirror as it were in order to reflect His true beauty more perfectly. After all we were made to praise Him, and our reward is joy.

Land of the free

In “The Land of the Free” we are currently enjoying the blessings of the information age. In a matter of seconds you can view thousands of facts on any given subject.
Instead of investing these treasures in wisdom and understanding we are busy with time wasters and life defilers. For those in the know and informed on this diabolical doublespeak. We are actually suffering from terminal ignorance. As a nation we are so stupid that we cannot perceive the depth thereof. In reality our state bird should be an Ostridge and the national motto “If ignorance is bliss, this is the happiest place on earth”. This terminal ignorance has as its foundation a case of apathy and laziness. We are a nation asleep. The state perpetuates this ignorance with a backwater educational system, teaching what to think and not how. Putting an amazing amount of value on artificial intelligence (i.e. a degree) and not actual. They produce a Narcissistic zombie who loves its socialist dogma. People who could care less about anything that does not feed this lust.
The only answer is to separate yourself from this tantalizing sewage of the mind. Detoxifying your mind from ignorant platitudes. Drink deep from the everlasting fountain of truth. Always asking why and learning.
The lessons and skills of a generation should be handed down to the next. We must amass a wealth of wisdom and understanding in our hearts. Leaving it as a foundation for future generations. If this is done the future will be bright as has been in times past. If we fail to do this, we will continue to be manipulated by the state, living short sighted futile lives.

Liberty?

Liberty is righteous. It is the freedom to control yourself. When

you live unrighteously you lose your liberty. A man consumed with

himself will be a slave to his lust and will offer no protection for his

family. (Proverbs) Without Christ we are slaves to sin but in Christ we die

to sin. Now we have the power to live a self-controlled life. Self-control is not

perfection, but it is the mark of adulthood and spiritual maturity. If the

Spirit of the Lord is in you, you will live a self-controlled life. ( were the

Spirit of the Lord is there is Liberty) It will affect everything you do

and think. The Chief job of a parent is to instill an ability to control oneself

to their children. This is done by example and training. History has

proven that the self-controlled will be free and the lascivious will be

slaves. Which would you choose for your children?

The choice stands before us. Patrick Henry once said “Give me

liberty or give me death" and publicly educated minds think he is an

anarchist. It is in liberty that we can serve our God. Joshua said "As

for me and my house we will serve the Lord" and I believe they were

saying the same thing. Say no to the bondage of selfishness and yes

to the liberty and lordship of Jesus Christ!
